January 12 - Two Act Dream
Act I
There is a reason I have never watched “Snakes on a plane” before. It just doesn’t sound right to call it entertainment when you are menaced by snakes and you can’t get away from them. Let me tell you it is even worse in real (dream-land) life. We were on our way to a motorcycle competition, presumably to
The next day I was off to the motorcycle rally and competition. It was not at a large event center but rather at the cultural hall in the church. It was pretty crowded with all the participants and the spectators were circled around the edges sitting on folding chairs – sort of like the old youth dances. It wasn’t very exciting because the goal was to ride around the “course” with washcloths and towels stacked on each cycle’s gas tank until all had fallen off. The one with at least one remaining was the winner.
I wasn’t able to stay for the whole exciting competition because my snake bite had started to fester. You could see it start to “bubble up” through the two holes in my
I finally got to June’s house and decided to take a shower. Of course there were no towels because they were all at the motorcycle event.
Act II
We decided to host a technician’s rally with the local car repair shop and recruit young mechanics to see who could fix the

Obligatory Post
I'll be graduating in May. That makes this my final semester of my undergraduate career. I'm taking a marketing management that is a marketing capstone course. Basically the whole term is forming a marketing plan for a company. We do the whole thing, the advertising, the budgeting, the research, the testing, all of it. I'm pretty excited for that. I'm also taking a capstone management course. We do an online game where we're in charge of a company and we have to make all the decisions. We decide everything from pricing to where to manufacture to how much to train our employees to how involved in the community we are. I'm also in an economics course called decision modeling. It's basically using Excel to build spreadsheets to make models of stuff. I'm pretty good at that stuff, so that's why I signed up for it. I didn't know it when I signed up, but apparently it's one of the toughest classes offered through the business school. The teacher said we'd have two or three assignments a week and that they should take us about three hours each. Yeehaw. Oh well, I'm ready to rock. I'm also in a finance class that deals with financial institutions and markets. It's very interesting and looks to be very useful. Plus the teacher is the best teacher I've ever had. My last class is a market research class. Looks fun and interesting.
So all in all, this will be a very difficult semester but a good one.
As you guys know, I didn't get married. That has been more difficult than I could ever have imagined. I was not prepared to deal with the depression that has brought. I've wondered many times if Miranda and I will ever be able to be happy again. Things are getting better though, we're on the way out of that funk. We still haven't set a new date, and we probably won't for a while. Frankly, I don't know when it will be.
So that's what's up with me.

Go Cowboys!!!
why we must get your dad to blog about his dreams
dad: i'm kind of tired.
Me: okay, what happened in the night?
dad: let's just say that if you want to ride the white cow in the church swimming pool you have to spray it with WD-40 first.
