We live in a small cottage that was built around 1900 on the family farm of President James Monroe. Oak Hill Farm is about 1500-acres, and is centered around a main home and gardens that were designed by Thomas Jefferson. This is also where President Monroe drated the Monroe Doctrine.
We have full access to the property and have been able to get out and take some nice walks. We have a little stream that runs near our house, nice big trees in the yard that are perfect for hanging a hammock, and fields nearby with horses and cattle. Most of the "farm" is leased to a local cattle company called Virginia Beef, so they either graze cattle, grow crops for cow food, or plant grass that they maintain and sell to local landscapers. - Paul, Nicole & Tierney
